Back to School
Mechanical pencils, scientific calculators, notebook paper, three-ring binders, highlighters in just about every color, school shoes times three, volleyball and cheer shoes, football cleats, and several backpacks as big as small cars… just a few of the items on my kids’ school supply list. And I’ve got a new college student this year to boot. I’ve purchased enough stuff to furnish a small country, and I’m not quite done. The funny thing is, my pocketbook may be smarting, but I wouldn’t change a thing.
There is something I just love about this time of year. I am not sure if it is the smell of a new box of crayons or the stacks of notebooks waiting to be used. Whatever it is, the dog days of summer always transport me back to a time when Trapper Keepers and square metal lunchboxes were all the rage.
