Block Party welcomes students back
Later this month, as hundreds of students flock back to Colby to start the fall semester at Colby Community College, dozens of Colby businesses, churches and organizations will be there to welcome them.
The annual CCC Block Party is set for August 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the north side of CCC’s Student Union. Participants have the opportunity to introduce these students to their products, services, jobs and volunteer opportunities.
Students will receive a Passport to Thomas County booklet that will be stamped as they visit each participating business table. At the end of the event, the student names will be placed in a drawing for a gift card. The booklet will contain a list of participating businesses, churches and organizations who signed up before the July 24 deadline.
“The annual block party is an excellent opportunity for the community and students to interact and anytime we have an opportunity for that to occur, we look forward to it,” says CCC president, Seth Carter. “We are so blessed to be in a community that is engaged with Colby Community College and our students.”
While registration for getting your businesses’ information into the booklet has closed, there is still time to claim one of the tables.
