Chamber starts Young Professionals group
The Colby/Thomas County Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the formation of a new group designed to help attract and retain young business talent in the Colby community,
Young Professionals is geared toward individuals aged 21 to 35, who are an employee of a Colby/Thomas County Chamber member business. Organizers want to give young professionals the opportunity to exchange ideas, grow professionally, and give back to the Colby community.
“The Young Professionals is a great way to share what you do with people in a similar age group and make lifelong connections, both professionally and socially,” says Chamber board member and Young Professionals coordinator, Kaylin Wiens.
She say the group will help Colby’s young professionals gain more visibility in the community, help them get more involved and establish a connection with Colby that will hopefully help keep them here.
“I think it will be a good outlet for young people to connect and grow their network, both personally and professionally.”
Right now, Wiens says organizers are still in the planning stages, but hope to have their first mixer in February. They are also looking at holding a job fair and taking part in community projects in the near future.
