Mark your calendars now for the Colby/Thomas County Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet and Awards Ceremony on Friday, March 29.
The banquet will be held at City Limits Convention Center with a theme of Colby-opoly. We will be celebrating all the great things our community has to offer.
The evening will begin with a social time at 6:30 p.m., followed by a dinner at 7 p.m.
Mitch Holthus, the voice of the Kansas City Chiefs is joining us this year. The Kansas Native will share his thoughts on his work with the Chiefs and the future of rural Kansas. (See below for more.)
The Ambassadors’ Business Person of the Year, Diplomats’ Businesswoman of the Year, and the Chamber Board’s Community Service Award winners will also be honored at the banquet, and the newly elected board will be introduced to the membership.
Tickets for the event are $35 each or $260 for a corporate table of eight. You can purchase your tickets by visiting our website ColbyChamber.com/banquet or calling the Chamber office at (785) 460-3401. Reservations should be made by Friday, March 22, but we ask members to get their tickets as soon as possible to ensure their seats. Ticket sales will open to the general public on March 18.
On Sunday afternoons every fall, his voice thunders through radios all across the Sunflower State…
“Touchdown! Kaaaaan-saaas City!”
He’s as well-known as the Chief’s red and gold uniforms and the mouth-watering barbecue in the parking lot.
Mitch Holthus is the longest tenured and most decorated play-by-play voice in the Chief’s franchise history and he shows no signs of slowing down. The Kansas native has been with the Chiefs Radio Network since 1994, when he took over for Kevin Harlan. Before that, he served as the radio voice of the K-State Wildcats.
There really is no off-season for Mitch. Following the NFL season, he makes the switch to college basketball, often calling games for ESPN, FOX Sports and other national outlets. He primarily covers the Big 12 and the Missouri Valley Conferences, as well as the SEC.
But this year he is making time to visit western Kansas. Mitch Holthus will be the featured speaker at this year’s Colby/Thomas County Chamber annual banquet.
Banquet tickets are on sale now! To learn more about the banquet and the message Mitch is bringing to the Oasis, be sure to visit colbychamber.com/banquet.
This year we will be auctioning off items that have been created and donated by our Chamber member businesses. If you would like to donate an item to promote your business and the Colby-opoly theme, please call the Chamber office by March 15 or email info@ColbyChamber.com.
